CSBSU is made of 12 Executive positions, lead by 2 co-presidents. They are responsible in representing CSB students and in hosting various events for our constituents. The executive team is elected by the student body through end of year and/ or beginning of the year by-elections.
Roles and responsibilities of each executive:
Co-Presidents
- Possess signing privileges
- Call and chair all CSBSU executive and general meetings
- Delegate tasks to executive members
- Accountable for all CSBSU funds (to ASSU, if allocated to the union by ASSU)
- Oversee each event to ensure proper planning and execution
- Act as a liaison between the faculty and CSBSU, as well as students and CSBSU
- Manage CCR
Vice President
- Respond to students’ inquiries (via email) and/ or direct those inquiries to the appropriate member of the executive
- Support the co-presidents in any way needed
- Plan and execute one event during the academic year
- Take on the role of president in case of absentees or vacancies as needed
Secretary
- Record and upload and/ or distribute meeting minutes of all general and executive meetings
- Create a mailing list of emails obtained throughout the year
- Keep a paper trail of all relevant information in order to pass on this information to the future executives
- Collect executive members timetables and set up meeting times and office hours
- Be available to support any members regarding written documentation
- Plan and execute one event during the academic year
Treasurer
- Keep track of CSBSU expenses throughout the year
- Write checks for reimbursements
- Organize receipts and and submit to ASSU
- Plan allocation of funds for specific events and projects
- Plan and execute one event during the academic year
- Responsible to the members of the organization for all the revenue
Design & Media Representative
- Is responsible for the maintenance of the CSBSU website (as webmaster)
- Responsible for designing marketing and advertising material, as requested
- Plan and execute one event during the academic year
ASSU Representative
- Act as a liaison between ASSU and the union; responsible for advising the executives of changes within either organization
- Attend all ASSU meetings throughout the academic term
- Plan and execute one event during the academic year
Public Relations Representative
- Keep a paper trail regarding the success and failures/improvements of social events
- Keep a list of all relevant contacts, including but not limited to potential collaborations and sponsors
- Organize schedules for marketing, including but not limited to class announcements, social media posts, and distribution of merchandise
- Contact other unions, departments, and sponsors as needed
Academic Representative
- Assist CSB undergraduate students from all years
- Answer any queries about courses
- Assist with and/ or direct any graduate program questions to the proper person or department
- Organize the CSBSU mentorship program for the year
- Plan and execute two events during the year
Second Year Representative
- Will assist second-year CSB students
- Will answer any queries about 100- and 200-level courses
- Work with PR Representative to promote CSB to first and second-year students as requested
Third Year Representative
- Will assist third-year CSB students
- Will answer any queries about 300-level courses
- Work with PR Representative to promote CSB to third-year students as requested
Fourth Year Representative
- Will assist fourth (and higher) year CSB students
- Will answer any queries about 400-level courses
- Will assist with and direct any graduate program questions to the proper person or department
- Work with PR Representative to promote CSB to fourth-year students as requested
